For their first interleague game, the Cards matched up with a familiar foe; the Kansas City Royals. The expectations were high for the Royals but they haven’t come to fruition yet. The Cards on the other showed KC why they’re so good. Adam Wainwright started off a b it clunky, throwing a lot of pitches early but still ended up going eight strong innings. It also helped that his last two innings totaled 10 pitches. Mujica pitched the ninth for his fifteenth save. The Cards jumped on top with Molina hitting his third homerun of the season to give lead. Yadi ended up with 4 rbi’s. The Cards also busted out twelve hits en route to a 6-3 win.
Next up Tyler Lyons goes after his second win in his second start against Ervin Santana.
