Cardinals Notes 06/10/13


After an off day Monday, Michael Wacha looks to get his first Major League win. He’s received no decisions is his first two starts.

Jake Westbrook pitched a seven inning game in Peoria on Sunday and was satisfied with the results. HE looks to come off the disabled list in a few days.

Chris Carpenter will begin pitching to live hitters in a day or so.

Matt Holliday’s grand slam traveled 464 feet into the upper deck in left field. It was his first grand slam as a Cardinal.

Kevin Seigrist has struck out 8 of the first ten hitters he faced.

Shelby Miller leads the National League in era at 1.91. His next start is Wednesday against the Mets.

Yadier Molina is leading the National League in Hitting at .354

At 41-22, the Cards are 19 games over .500 and are 3 1/2 games up on Cincinnati. They still have the best record in baseball by 2 games over Atlanta.
